The Pyramid project´s first 0.3 draft begins to emerge from a conversation between Jens Thiel and Ingo Niermann in 2005 .

In 2006 a supporting association, The Friends of the Great Pyramid e.V. is established, and secures first funding from Germany´s Federal Cultural Foundation.

In the next year 2007 we develop the original, hardly realistic plan into a more sustainable proposition and find prominent supporters. The Great Pyramid idea is being introduced and captivates worldwide attention.

Except for the publication of the Great Pyramid book and the Venice Architecture Biennale, 2008 was much a lost year. People start wrangles, intrigues and schemes in order to secure unmerited shares in the preceding years´ achievements. As a result, the supporting association becomes a non-operating, largely asset-less shell.

In late 2009 the project is being put back on track again.
